Perspective

i drove out to the ocean yesterday to get some perspective. i saw a bald eagle. i also met some other sea birds. they are so accustomed to life in the wild that when i tried to give them some cashews they looked at me like “why the heck is this guy throwing stuff at us?” i tried so hard to coerce them into eating it. apparently they don’t understand english too well, but finally was able to get it across to them that it was food. they all tasted some and then decided they preferred the taste of the sand bugs and the little things they found in the shallow rising and falling tides. they didn’t bother me for anymore trail mix. where i grew up in florida on the beaches everyone knows not to feed any birds because they will swarm like mad. complete opposite experience on a beach in the pacific northwest, evidence of the polarity between the (mind)state i used to live and the (mind)state i’ve chosen to live
