The Alpenglow is Real

I hitch hiked first with a guy from Nigeria who gave me some dope music recommendations from Nigeria, then I hitched the rest of the way to the trail head with a family from France who had just seen a family of orca whales about twenty feet away from the rocks they were sitting on right before they picked me up. Had to hitch hike because the bus never showed up to pick me up from the ferry terminal, I find out later because it doesn’t run its scheduled stops at 10pm on Friday nights when school is out for the summer, which makes no sense, but it gave me the opportunity to have these encounters that started off my adventure with that extra little sparkle that set the tone for the rest of my hike
