Svalbard Aurora

Maybe the best part of being on this earth for so long is the music library I’ve collected. I keep my old school iPod on shuffle mode, and let it take me through months of unrepeating songs, giving me such a beautiful soundtrack to my life, helping me feel all the emotions, bliss, gratitude, fullness, floaty, dirty, squishy, contemplative, sad, accomplished, explosive, tears of unrelenting joy, ecstatic euphoria, elevation, liberation, evolution, joyous wonder, disbelief, belief, nostalgia, but mostly it gives me the feeling of being truly alive. Sometimes I choose what to listen to on my phone, and I always listen to new music on hikes, but most of the time it’s nice not having to choose and letting the continuous shuffle on my iPod take me to randomized bliss. It’s given me moments of watching the aurora while an old school beautiful tycho song came on, or Ocean by John butler came on one time while watching the aurora, it was unbelievable. There’s nothing like being somewhere and a long lost favorite song comes on I haven’t heard in months giving me the chills. Ive been to thousands of music shows in my life, hundreds of music festivals, so many good memories to be brought back to while the music plays. But damn Norway is seriously lacking in the music scene. I’m dying here. Music has been such a big part of my life, and it’s the biggest thing I miss about being here for the last two and a half years. I’ve got something brewing for next semester that should cure the longing, stay tuned… p.s. please give me a music recommendation you absolutely love that I haven’t heard before!!!
